Storage & Transmission Quotas

Disk Storage Allowances

Disk storage quotas help ensure we can provide sufficient disk space for all our customers, as well as for each server subsystem. Disk space is measured for each file within your FTP or Web directory heirarchy, as well as for the POP3 email account storage. File sizes are computed as a multiple of 8K (8192) bytes.

Each of the Web site, FTP site, and email account facilities provided by LiveZone are subject to limitations on the total amount of disk storage they may consume. These quotas are included in the description of each offering.

Data Transfer Allowances

Data transfer quotas help ensure the communication lines we lease are adequate to service all our customers' needs. To be conservative, we assume that transfers will all occur in 8 hours (9AM to 5PM your local time), Monday to Friday. If you significantly exceed your quota within these hours, you may prevent other LiveZone customers from obtaining the service they paid for.

Each of the Web site, FTP site, and email facilities provided by LiveZone server are subject to limitations on the total amount of data transfer permitted per month. These quotas are included in the description of each offering.

Web Site File-Hit Allowances

Web site file-hit quotas help ensure our servers can process Web browser requests quickly, even at busy times of the day. The rate at which file-hits are requested determines the loading of the CPU and disk subsystems of our servers. We try to ensure that server performance doesn't degrade significantly, even if all our customer sites operate at their stated hit-rate quota. Like data transfers, we assume that almost all Web activity will occur in relatively few hours each day.

Enforcement of Quotas

In normal operation, we'll be concerned if your accounts exceed their quota in a way that interfers with our ability to provide our contracted quotas to our other customers. If you occasionally exceed your quota, or exceed your quota during non-peak hours, then we'll generally not become too concerned in the short term. LiveZone reserves the right to limit the data transfer or file-hits on any site to what's been contracted for; we'll email you if we believe your site is exceeding its allowances.
